About Jen

I am married to a dynamic man named Bill. He can derive an abstract class (something to do with the internet) paddle a class 5 rapid and make a delicious cup of coffee. We have a beautiful pres-schooler, Isabella (Izzy) who keeps us on our toes. We also share our home with our dog/lion/bear (Tibetan Mastiff), who thinks he is a cat. We fulfilled our dream of living in the mountains two years ago by moving to Utah. I write and dabble with paint and am a founding member of a small non-profit. We organize charity marathon teams who raise funds to backpack medical aid to internally displaced people in Burma. I am passionate about people living their best possible lives - based on the sense that our interests and pursuits may be very different from one another. It's about discovering what thrills you.

Fun Facts about Jen
Favorite Past Times: Yoga, painting, drinking a glass of wine with good friends and then doing more yoga (or merloga), cross country and downhill skiing, climbing, backpacking, making stuff especially the kind of crafts your grandmother probably made (yes, I’m a dork) organic vegetable gardening (I did not grow that carrot), plotting revolutions and blowing raspberries on Izzy’s belly.
Least Favorite Past Time: Running. (I do it anyway.)
Oddest Job: I was a roadie for ZZ Top while they toured Europe back when I was in college. My dad got me the gig because I blew through my spending money while studying abroad. My responsibilities were to follow the videographer on stage during the show to make sure her cables didn’t get caught on anything (cable page) and I was in charge of the back stage guest list. Yes, they put a 20 year-old girl in charge of the guest list. That was a fun summer.

Favorite “Necessities”: my down comforter, macbook pro, shearling boots and a good set of knives.
Favorite Food: Crème brulee from the Mountain Room in Yosemite – the view and the creamy goodness are sublime.
Oddest Award: In college I won an achievement scholarship from the Association for Women in Architecture. I had designed all of these fabulous and altruistic green building projects, but the one that got me the award… my feminist interpretation of a bawdy house.
Favorite Movie Quote: “Gentlemen, no fighting in the war room.”
– Dr. Strangelove
Favorite Quote: “If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito.” ~Betty Reese
